The Hooters music – “All You Zombies” live 1986

It’s probably very fitting to have the first song posted here on the website to be “All You Zombies”, a song that basically put the band on the map. Seeing how I’m “only” 35 years old, the song is a little bit behind my time, but being the avid fan of retro rock that I am, I managed to find this song on YouTube and I thought that I should share them with other fans of “The Hooters” who might be reading this blog.

The Hooters music – “All You Zombies” live 1986

“The Hooters” music is very energetic, it’s rock after all, but there are also influences of other genres that are noticeable, mainly reggea, punk and ska. Not a lot of bands are able to pull off this type of sound, at least I haven’t been able to find bands that can. Video down below was recorded at the Tower Theatre in Philadelphia in 1986.

Watching this video reminds me what crazy times the 80s were. Just look at the hair and the outfits that both the band and the audience sport. 4:3 aspect ratio recording is also there. Last, but definitely not least, we have the actual song. I have to say that there’s nothing to which I can compare it with. It’s just so unique and interesting. If you never heard about “The Hooters”, it’s a great song to get you started with the band. Have a list and let me know what you think.
